A blog for the campaign to Retire the McRib®. The McRib is a trademark of McDonalds Corp. McDonalds has no connection to this blog or the "Retire the McRib" campaign. The organizer of this blog is not an employee, former employee, or contractor of the company. He just loves real barbeque.

It's back, again (too bad)
Why so many want pork drenched with sweet sauce, pickles and onions is beyond me. But, good luck. A Farewell Tour II? Boneless Pig Farmers of America? Gimme a break. Why don't they retire the McRib forever? 62,847 consumers have been suckered. I'd rather have a bacon, jalepeno burger "Los Wochos" that was sold in Germany this summer.

We the undersigned recognize the McRib (trademark of McDonald's Corporation) is a vile, tasteless attempt at selling a pseudo-rib like sandwich to the masses. While we realize the free enterprise system of America allows for such creations to be foisted upon an unknowing public, we recommend the permanent discontinuation of this sandwich.
As evidence of our distaste for the McRib we offer the following evidence:
1) The McRib has nothing to do with anything remotely rib in nature. It is merely a formed, boneless pork patty with artificial grill marks.
2) The McRib has nothing to do with anything truly Barbeque as defined as hot smoked, slow cooked meats with in-direct heat.
3) The McRib with it's pickles, onions, boneless pork patty and sauce discredit two great sandwiches:
(A) A beef brisket sandwich which is more properly the creation of the State of Texas.
(B) A pork barbeque sandwich which is more properly the creation of the South (including: North Carolina, South Carolina and adjoining states east of the Mississippi).
May the McRib finally go the way of the dinosaur.
